Abstract [eng] Usability of Interactive National Geographic Reference Maps Geographic reference map in interactive environment has new usability and display possibilities, which encourages reconsidering its conception of geographic reference maps, its typical features as well as its significant analysis ways, which now are quite topical. The main object of the work is interactive multiscale national geographic reference map, which conception`s indefinitivity and theoretical – scientific lack of research are the main reasons for this scientific analysis. The main aim of this master thesis is to create theoretical and practical aspect evaluation framework for the usability of scientific interactive national geographic reference map. Eight methods have been used: literature source analysis, logical summarizing and description, conceptual and logical modeling, cartographical method for the interactive geographical reference map as well as its usability comparative analysis. In the theoretical part of the analysis is discussed the diversity of interactive geographical reference maps and the conception of interactive geographic reference map was defined. The features of accuracy, informative, dynamism, prospect added value have been described, which are used in interactive analysis of geographic reference maps. Methodology part of the analysis coverage is discussed, which covers 24 Europe countries, 28 spatial data portals and 104 geographic reference maps in mentioned portals. Work tasks are graphically linked to anticipated work results, using research methods in the literature source analysis. In the end of the chapter the specific technical analysis, systematizing and result analysis are discussed. The analysis results were proved that in the European national maps browser dominates reference maps reviews. Each map is labeled as one of the 8 specific reference map categories. It is done considering complexion, consistency and management possibility aspects, which were noticed in the European interactive geographic reference map analysis. The most numerous map category in the analysis coverage, characterizes by constant, multilayer and beforehand defined structure. Interactive functions were grouped by their usability to realize specific interactive geographic reference map features. When each comparative feature realization degree was estimated, it was clear that in the European geographic reference maps dominates feature of informativeness, which is realized by most used amount of interactive functions. Whilst dynamism still remains the base attribute, when realizing by intensive, small diversity interactive function usability. In the second part of the results, the comparative analysis is given of the researched maps. Its’ specific feature domination is compared to interactive function usability in geographic reference maps for realization of its purpose features. The received comparative analysis results are shown by summarized cartographical charts in national level. Theoretical analysis has confirmed that in the research coverage there is a group of European countries, which national browsers given reference maps characterize in strictly oriented structure. The most diverse structure maps are given in Latvian and Poland national browsers. In these browsers, likewise in Northern European countries browsers, there is a high interactive geographical reference maps features realization. In the last part of the results, these is an individual research on Lithuania`s interactive multiscale geographic reference maps in order to estimate Lithuania`s situation in Europe. Thereby, Lithuania is given high feature realization level of interactive national geographic reference map, which is equal to France, Norway and Luxemburg countries group. Even though these countries outpace Lithuania by finished interactive functions and its diversity, but they are equal by given feature diversity of interactive national geographic reference maps.
