Abstract [eng] Existential Horizon in the Texts of Liūnė Sutema: the Perspective of Reader-Response Criticism The object of this Masters’ thesis – the existential horizon, as it is contemplated from the perspective of reader-response criticism in the texts of Liūnė Sutema (Zinaida Nagytė-Katiliškienė). The existential horizon is analysed in two aspects. First, we ask about a person’s need of fiction, keeping in mind the specificity of literary discourse accented by W. Iser and its anthropological motivation. We therefore actualize the act of writing poetic texts in the texts of Liūnė Sutema. The second aspect is the position of an implied reader in the text. We understand it as Liūnė Sutema’s need for a dialogue, an attempt to be heard by choosing an intimate, albeit a public manner of speaking. We attempt to reconstruct Liūnė Sutema’s definition of a reader when discussing conditions for literary communication. To expand this definition, we incorporate a search for one’s-own-place which is very important to the bezemiai (“landless”) generation. Finally, we turn to the question of god seeking that is hidden in the texts but is not always explicit. We attempt to understand why the intention of god seeking is definitively connecting and grounding the meaning of writing, the problematic of “erased” language, and the (dis)placement situation. The analysis of the interaction of a poetic text and the reader reveals the commonality of literary creation and our nature. And the attempt to evaluate questions about reading the texts is parallel to the reflexion of all human experience.
