Abstract [eng] This work explores how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the dynamics of competition in today's digital markets and creating new challenges for competition law enforcement. AI technologies such as pricing algorithms can lead to algorithmic collusion and reduce competition in the market, even in the absence of direct agreement between companies. Particularly problematic is that AI decisions are often made on the basis of opaque models that cannot even be analyzed by experts, making it difficult for regulators to determine whether these decisions comply with competition law. Artificial intelligence technologies can also influence consumer behaviour, so it is important that competition authorities cooperate with other regulatory authorities, such as consumer protection or data protection authorities, to ensure that these technologies do not violate competition principles and do not lead to undesirable consequences. It is important that new legal and methodological tools are developed to assess the impact of AI on competition, and that institutions ensure that these tools are sufficient and adapted to rapidly evolving technologies.
