Abstract [eng] |
The main objective of this thesis is to determine the impact of Lean principles on employee work performance and stress levels in the waste management sector. The thesis includes a theoretical literature review, empirical research, analysis of the obtained results, conclusions and recommendations, as well as a reference list. A quantitative research methodology was applied – a standardized questionnaire survey was conducted. The data were processed and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS statistical software. The research participants were employees of various positions within the waste management sector. The literature review analyzes the concept of Lean principles, their application areas, and their relationship with employee stress and individual work performance. The empirical study evaluated the influence of Lean principle application on individual performance and stress level, the latter being considered as a potential mediating factor in the waste management sector. The research findings revealed that the application of Lean principles has a positive impact on employee performance. However, the stress experienced by employees at work did not influence this relationship. The application of Lean principles did not have a direct effect—either positive or negative—on the employees' stress levels. Nevertheless, when stress was analyzed as a separate factor, it was found that it could have a positive impact on work performance. Summarizing the results, it can be assumed that the application of Lean principles in the waste management sector may serve as an effective managerial tool for improving organizational performance and increasing employee productivity. |
