Abstract [eng] The subject of study is the process of creating an Installation with the intention of involving locals in the establishment of their environment, and the sociality this process can foster. What can be accomplished by involving local residents in the creation of their environment, how can an Installation that has appeared in a residential setting foster sociality, and what can be discovered about the local population and their surroundings through involvement and interactions are the questions that the research seeks to answer. According to the research, the first plan to establish an installation with the locals was unsuccessful; however, connection with locals was created by using a physical object. The study addresses the following subjects: residential environments, public art, strategies of residents involvement, and gentrified urban context. The Actor Network Theory, which studies the environment from the perspective of networkability, serves as the foundation for this study. Controversy Mapping, considered as the practical application of ANT, was selected for the study, on the basis of which the Installation is treated as one of the actors creating social bonds. The study looks at controversy of an unpredictable process of involving locals into externally initiated place-making action.
