Abstract [eng] The main objective of this master's thesis is to analyse how the workplace digitalisation and digital competencies affect employee individual work performance and to investigate of the mediating role of artificial intelligence empowerment in this relationship. The thesis consists of five main parts: introduction, theoretical literature review, research methodology, empirical analysis and discussion/conclusions/recommendations. The literature review provides an overview of the main constructs of the study – workplace digitalization, digital competencies, artificial intelligence empowerment, and individual work performance. It introduces the concept of all these constructs, discusses their multidimensionality and presents previous research on similar topics by other authors. Following a literature review, the author conducted a quantitative study. An anonymous questionnaire survey was designed and 203 responses were selected for the study using control questions. The results of the study were processed using IBM SPSS 30 software. In order to determine the relationships between the constructs, mediated multiple regression was performed using the PROCESS macro. The results of the study showed that workplace digitalisation and digital competencies have significant positive impact on both AI empowerment and individual work performance. AI empowerment has positive impact on individual work performance in the context of workplace digitalisation. It is also found that AI empowerment plays a mediating role in the relationship between workplace digitalisation and individual job performance, but not in the relationship between digital competencies and individual work performance. The discussion includes a comparison of this study with previous studies by other authors. In the conclusions and recommendations, the author summarises the results of the literature review and the empirical study and makes recommendations for organisations seeking to improve individual work performance of their employees.
