Abstract [eng] This master‘s thesis analyses the development of swimming skills among primary school students and the trends of their improvement. The relevance of the topic is determined not only by the importance of children‘s physical activity and health but also by the necessity to ensure their safety and to develop vital life skills. Considering the challenges of modern education, the study aimed to thoroughly analyse swimming education methods, motivational factors, and aspects that determine the quality of the educational process. The aim of the research is to evaluate the formation of swimming skills and improvement trends among primary school students, based on the opinions of four target groups: students, parents, coaches, and school administration representatives. The object of the research is the process of formation and improvement of swimming skills in primary school students. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were applied in the study. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey, in which 300 primary school students, 113 of their parents, 88 swimming coaches, and 120 representatives of school administrations participated. The research methods included a questionnaire survey and content analysis. The obtained data made it possible to assess the level of children‘s swimming achievements, the diversity of teaching methods applied, their motivation to attend swimming classes, and the factors influencing the quality of the educational process. The research results revealed that the shortage of qualified swimming coaches is one of the main obstacles to ensuring high-quality swimming education for children. Furthermore, the importance of an individualized approach is emphasized, as it allows for better responsiveness to each child‘s learning needs and promotes more consistent skill development. At the end of the thesis, recommendations are provided for coaches, teachers, educational institutions, parents, and children. The research can serve as a basis for forming practical guidelines to promote children‘s physical activity and contribute to the improvement of swimming education models at the national level. The findings may also be useful in shaping educational policy aimed at increasing the accessibility and quality of sports education. The research addresses the problem of what factors influence the development of swimming skills among primary school students and how improvement trends differ depending on teaching methods, motivational aspects.
