Abstract [eng] |
This master thesis analyses four Xavier Dolan’s films in which autobiographical narrative could be noticed. The main object is the first film “I killed My Mother”. The analysis is based on semionarrative methods which are complemented with feminist film theory. These approaches allow to examine autobiographical structures and meanings that function in films and also to track how the autobiographical “I” is constructed. In general, three strategies could be mentioned: 1) transforming live into fiction narrative; 2) creating of the double who defines identities that are socially defined; 3) variating of different bodies as a measure to identify oneself as a non-heteronormative artist. |
