| Abstract [eng] |
The contemporary professional arts environment is characterised by constantly changing artistic, labour market and cultural consumption contexts; therefore, the continuous development of creative professionals’ competences becomes a prerequisite for ensuring artistic quality, sustainability and international competitiveness. In scientific literature, competence is defined as a dynamic set of individual abilities encompassing not only theoretical knowledge and practical skills, but also personal qualities, value orientations, motivation and the ability to act independently in specific professional situations. In the context of professional arts organisations, competence development is inseparable from the interaction of theory, practice and reflection. In Lithuania, the professional development of creative staff in professional choirs has predominantly been implemented in a fragmented, project-based manner, lacking long-term and systematic models. In light of national cultural policy objectives and increasing expectations regarding professional artistic quality, there is a growing need to develop sustainable, state-supported competence development solutions tailored to the specific nature of professional choral organisations. The object of the thesis is the professional competence development of creative staff in professional choirs. The aim of the thesis is to create a theoretical model for the professional competence development of creative staff in professional choirs, adapted to the Lithuanian cultural sector context. The objectives of the thesis are: 1. To analyse the concepts of competence and qualification and their application in professional activities; 2. To examine professional competence development models in scientific literature; 3. To identify the specific features of professional activity and competence development of creative staff in professional choirs; 4. To develop a theoretical model for professional competence development of creative staff; 5. To test the applicability of the model through the implementation of the project “Professional Competence Development of Lithuanian Professional Choir Staff”. The thesis employs methods of scientific literature analysis, document analysis, synthesis and generalisation. The proposed model is based on the principles of systematicity, continuity and institutional responsibility and may serve as a practical tool for enhancing professional mastery, improving the quality of cultural services and strengthening the international competitiveness of Lithuanian professional choral art. |
