The aim of this master's thesis is to investigate what values music and art schools create for the community and how they affect school governance, in order to understand what values are created for the community and how those values influence school governance. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes the values created by cultural and art organizations, their types, examines management aspects, as well as the role of the municipality in relation to the activities of the music and art school. Based on the analyzed scientific literature, a theoretical model of the value created by music and art schools for the community and their management links is formulated. The empirical part of the thesis studies the case of the Kazlų Rūda Music and Art School, in which quantitative and qualitative research methods are applied - an online survey of the community and two semi-structured interviews with the school principal and a representative of the municipality. The results of the empirical study revealed that music and art schools create educational, social, cultural, emotional, and public values for the community, which significantly affect school management decisions. According to the results of the study, values are often created and integrated intuitively, but their conscious integration into school management processes can enhance the significance of the school. The work contributes to the academic discourse in the field of arts management about the management of cultural and arts organizations, providing new insights into the significance of the values created by music and art schools for the community and their impact on shaping school management decisions. |
