Abstract [eng] The thesis analyses axiological aspects of popular music that help form musical taste, spiritual and personal values in teenagers. Research objective: to analyse adolescent attitude towards popular music from an axiological point of view. The following tasks were set to complete the objective: review the concept of popular culture and the place of music in popular culture; analyse developmental trends in popular music and the process of music communication; analyse the period of adolescence, axiological and musical adolescent orientations from the point of view of popular music; carry out an empirical study and study adolescent attitude towards popular music from an axiological point of view. Research object: adolescent attitude towards popular music from an axiological point of view. The following methods were employed: theoretical (analysis of scientific and psychological literature; documentation analysis) and empirical (survey). Teenagers living in the city and the country were interviewed. Age of study subjects: 12 to 18 years of age. 117 respondents were interviewed. Analysis of scientific literature proved that popular music has enormous demand and a very high interest demonstrated by the younger generation; communication between performer and listener determines the popularity and demand of popular music; affected by contemporary popular culture teenagers value what is beautiful, what assigns them a social status, acknowledgement and boosts personal pride; the musical tastes and axiological orientations of the younger generation change in accordance with fashion trends. Study results have demonstrated that popular music is one of the forms of spending leisure time, it provides comfort and relaxation; teenagers listen to popular songs that educate musical and personal values (communication, kindness, love, happiness, citizenship, responsibility); the main factors that form the musical taste in teenagers are the following: television, internet, favourite performers of popular music, family, recommendations from friends; teenagers who attend additional music education activities are more likely to listen to popular music at concerts; performers of popular music have a significant impact on the formation of musical taste, values and repertoire of popular music in the younger generation; the musical taste, personal and musical values are more mature and better formed in representatives of late adolescence.
