The paper deals with the documentary films of Henrikas Šablevičius, founder of Lithuanian poetic documentaries. Analysis is based on the main principles of deconstruction. Jacques Derrida’s principles of film deconstruction are briefly discussed and a particular trend of film deconstruction is highlighted with the aim to analyse poetic metaphors in Henrikas Šablevičius’ documentaries and reconstruct the content of these metaphors. The paper focuses on the style of his films and the main principles of creating metaphors as they are formulated by the film maker. |
