Abstract [eng] Mediatisation of Political Talk Shows on LRT TV Channel in Period of 2017-2018 The main purpose of this study is to measure the degree of mediatisation in political talk shows broadcasted by the national broadcaster (LRT TV channel). Although there have been discussions of mediatisation in Lithuania for several years, there were no real attempts to measure the degree of mediation in Lithuanian media. This study is the first attempt. The impact of television on public opinion is enormous. Private TV channels are heavily influenced by the demand from audience, as they are trying to create broadcasts that get the most interest from audience and in this way increase the revenues. The national broadcaster is in a different situation, as it is financed by the government and has one main task - to respond to the main defined principles: pluralism, universality and independence. In this master thesis it is used quantitative research and content analysis. Theoretical basis of the master thesis is derived from J. Strömbäck's theory of mediatisation phases. This theory is complemented by D. McQuail's main principles that are important for maintaining the confidence of the audience and the qualities that Herkman distinguishes, which are characterized by mediated policies. In order to measure the media coverage of the LRT channel, a special measurement tool was created as well as coding protocol that will encode specific broadcast values. This tool was created based on the experience of foreign research and adapted to the case of Lithuania. This allows us to make comparisons of the factors studied in different countries. The study distinguishes three main factors, the intensity of which allows to determine which phase of the mediation is the political talk show, broadcasted by LRT TV channel: intervention, framing and personalization. In the conclusions of the thesis it is analysed the values obtained by each factor separately, evaluated their dynamics between the analysed TV talk shows, compared them with similar studies carried out in the USA, Great Britain and Australia, analysed what determines the differences between the countries and what determines the dominant logic of LRT as well the future trends are also discussed. Identifying the current status quo of mediatisation enables opportunities to observe future developments, in different historical contexts, to expand the study both vertically and horizontally. Mediatisation studies are very important for the society as well as for the management of the national broadcaster, because an independent and democratic society has one of the key expectations - to know how their perception are constructed.
