Problems, Types and Concept of Work Time Appropriate legal working time regulation is an important guarantee of the rights of workers, helping to ensure safe and healthy working conditions and improve productivity. In order to achieve these purposes and to adapt to changing labor market needs and conditions in the national and international legal regulation the working time concept and working time types are presented. Under the working time and the basis for determining there are two main types of working time: full-time work (and its subspecies: normal and shortened working time) and part-time work. Each of these types of working time is related with certain specificity of its purposes. It is worth paying attention to the fact that in some cases the working time regulation cause corresponding problems associated with certain aspects of the working time type determination. In this context, this master thesis is divided into three main parts. In the first part the concept of working time is discussed, the second focuses on one of the working time type – full-time work (also working time subspecies – normal and shortened working time are discussed) and the third part of the work is about part-time work legal regulation and problems. In order to find out what problems arise in the legal regulation of these aspects this master thesis analyze legal working time regulation in the European Union and Lithuania. It also provides an overview of relevant Lithuanian courts cases, Lithuanian Constitutional Court doctrine and scientific publications related to working time. |
