The title of this Master's thesis is Concept, Types and Problems of Vocation Time. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the rest period concept, its allocation to type sand tore veal problems related with rest periods. In order to more clearly disclose the purpose of this topic the following objectives were set: analyse the regulation of rest period concept in the Republic of Lithuania and the European Union law acts; reveal the main features of rest period sand its connection with working hours; identify the allocation of rest period types by certain characteristics; analyse the rest period system in Lithuanian Labour Code, and reveal problems related with rest periods. This Master’s thesis has three main structural parts. The first part reveals rest period concept, connection between rest and work time, and main features of rest periods. The second part discusses the allocation of rest period types according to certain criteria. The third part analyses the rest period types in Lithuanian Labour Code. The main sources used in this paper are legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and the European Union, Labour law textbooks, Lithuanian Labour Code comment and law case practice. The conclusions of this paper reveal the need to extend the interpretation of rest period concept in accordance with Directive 2003/88/EC. In addition, main features of rest period and the recommendations to adjust the allocation of rest period types in Lithuania’s Labour Code are also provided in the conclusions. |
