Abstract [eng] Similarities and Differences of Asset Misappropriation and Embezzlement Appropriation and Embezzlement of property are illegal and non-repayable criminal offences for the perpetrator when the culprit is entrusted or disposal of assets of the former, or property rights of conversion of its assets, or that property or property law transfer to third parties. Because of the fact that Appropriation and Embezzelement of property are united by the elements of property and property law, it‘s important to set both - similarities and differences – between these two offences. For this reason, in the first chapter of this work there are overviewed the historical development of criminal law of Lithuania, whitch regulates Appropriation and Embezzlement of property, and also there are overviewed definitions of these two criminal offences. The second part of this paper is concentrated on the subject of similarities and differences of Appropriation and Embezzlement of property. These crimes are mainly analyzed and compared in detail through the elements of their objective and subjective features. The final part of this work is concentrated on qualifying features of Appropriation and Embezzlement of property. Analysing the jurisprudence of the Lithuanian Highest Court this paper was trying to separate Appropriation and Embezzlement of property from the other property crimes and also was looking for similarities between these two tipes of crimes. In conclusion, there were formed features, whitch could help to dissociate Appropriation and Embezzlement one from another. The main two features could be the object and the subject of there crimes.
