Abstract [eng] Employee Participation in the Management of Companies. Is This the Right Way for Lithuania to Go? Involvement of employee is the legal institute which is interpreted inconclusively by European Union member states. Lithuania belongs to the group of member states wherein the involvement of employee is not developed. When considering social model, issues affecting employee involvement are being evaluated, so it is important to analyse the ways in which the employee involvement can be implemented in the legal environment in Lithuania. The objective of this master's thesis is the participation of employees that is one of the forms of employee involvement. Therefore, main focus is given on the implementation of such institute. In master thesis, it is analysed how the rights of employees are exercised in Lithuania and determined the legislation set forth in social model for the employee participation. With respect to the German, Swedish and Irish practice, as well as the legislative trends in France and Czech Republic, it is aiming to clarify the effective legislation in Lithuania. Further, social and economic impact on participation rights of employees are being evaluated, focusing on its effects on shareholder’s interests. Whereas involvement of employees may be implemented through the financial participation in decision making, therefore the alternatives of financial participation in decision making are reviewed.
