Abstract [eng] Quality assessment and self-assessment of activity of preschool education is one of the main strategic and top priority initiatives of education recognized as an independent factor of an institution and a necessary condition in order to achieve continuous improvement of quality of activity. In ratified recommendations of 2011 by the European Council regarding cooperation assessing quality of education it is recommended to install quality assessment system of education, encourage internal audit of schools, improve the system of audit and encourage involvement and participation of a school’s community in the school’s activity for European countries (Švietimo organizacijų kokybės vadyba, 2008). For preschool education as one of the part of education system quality assessment and self-assessment of activity is also relevant. Educational organization has to identify its strong and weak areas of activity, perceive success and failures, self-assess quality of activity, and take decisions and actions for its improvement. Quality assessment and self-assessment of activity is continuous process; effective management has impact on this process effectiveness.
