Abstract [eng] |
Fast development of explicit and novel applications of nanomaterials in nearly all domains is undeniable. The versatility of NMR brought an array of applications addressing potential future developments of nano-structure materials and NMR-based methods applied in clinical routine. In this dissertation four fields demonstrating the utility of NMR were covered: magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) of metabolites present in prostate; up-converting nanoparticles (UCNPs) as potential multimodal MRI contrast agents (CAs); sunset yellow (SSY) as a lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal (LCLC) which promises a new generation of medical diagnostic tools - small and portable biosensors; and calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) as novel nano-structured materials that can be used for the treatment of bone defects. The first two groups of materials can be directly applied in NMR-based imaging modalities as potential cancer biomarkers. The second two correspond to innovative materials that can be utilized in medicine and NMR spectroscopy is a useful tool for their analysis. |
