Abstract [eng] This article examines the importance of extracurricular activities in relation to a child's self-realization. Attention is focused on the importance of artistic subjects and teaching them in extracurricular activities. It should be noted that singing is significant in the process of allowing individuals to realize their potentials. However, other extracurricular activities are important to child's self expression as well, and one of them is dance lessons. Dancing acts as a process of communication, which helps to express a child's feelings, thoughts and inner experience through movement. Drama clubs are also one of the other extracurricular activities where children gain some acting skills, are taught to concentrate their attention, to fantasize and be creative. Art clubs are important as well. Art enriches esthetical experiences of children, helping them to understand the beauty of art, artistic perceptivity and observation. This article presents the answers of pupils in grades 3 to 9. The results that are based on children opinions about extra-curricular activities reveal how these activities help to develop their self expression, what the main reasons that make students interested in some oarticular artistic activities are and how important they are in self-realization of children. This article summarizes and comments on the main facts.
