Abstract [eng] The article presents research which deals with specialists’ competence to work with pupils having specific learning disorders. The research data was collected through a survey applied by academic experts. The existing structure of the competence of the specialists is identified through high-lighting its strengths and weaknesses, and also the point of view of the specialists towards the educational content is set in the programme worked out by the European Dyslexia Association (EDA). It is recommended that the learning outcomes formulated in the course of the project EUPALT are most import and and should be assessed. The competences constructed by the specialists have identified five essential categories: general and specific knowledge, competence of child ’s and one‘s individuality recognition, competence of the support provision given to the pupil, collaboration competence, and general personal competences. When assessing the educational content presented in the EDA programme and the preparation results formulated by the EUPALT project group, specialists are highly bound to emphasise the competences which are necessary for direct everyday practical work with pupils having specific learning disorders, i.e. to recognise disorders, to understand their causes and to adjust the educational content. Pedagogues consider the competences which would allow for the implementation of the teacher - researcher role in carrying out independent and purposeful observations through being interested in, and interpreting research, whilst tests are seen as less important.
