Abstract [eng] The article deals with the attitude of parents of students at Šiauliai “Dagilėlis” boys’ choral singing school towards cooperation among participants in the process of education in enhancing students’ motivation for engagement into informal musical activities. The research aims: to carry out an empirical research on the attitude of parents towards opportunities for participants in the process of education to cooperate through informal musical education activities; to find out the influence of parent-teacher cooperation on children’s motivation for engagement into informal musical activities; to highlight sociodemographic factors that may influence parents’ attitude towards cooperation among participants in the process of education. The obtained results reveal that parents consider the cooperation among participants in the process of informal education being more sincere, closer and more tailored for each individual child, success of one’s musical activities and one’s well-being compared to the cooperation proceeding in formal education. Therefore, teachers providing informal education have greater possibilities to get students’ parents involved in the process of cooperation compared to those providing formal education. Successful cooperation among educators enhances children’s sense of being safe and hence, induces, children to express themselves more freely. Parents consider teacher’s professional skills and favourable family members’ attitude towards the child’s informal musical activities being the most important motivating factors. Level of education and musical experience of the respondents were those demographic factors that had the greatest impact on distribution of the respondents’ opinions. [...].
