Abstract [eng] |
The article deals with peculiarities of general physical fitness of 12–13 year old boys from initial training groups who are going in for various sports in the aspect of a sports branch. The research subject is physical fitness of young sportsmen. The research aim is to investigate the physical fitness of 12–13 year old sportsmen in the aspect of sports branch. The research was carried out in the months of October and November of 2010 in Panevėžys City Sports Centre. The research sample consisted of four groups of 12–13 year old young sportsmen. The first group consisted of 12–13 year old boys who attended track-and-field athletics (n = 27); the second group encompassed boys who attended sports games (basketball) (n = 30); the third group consisted of boys who attended duel sports (wrestling) (n = 22); the fourth group consisted of boys who attended cycling sports branches (cycling) (n = 28). In total, 107 persons took part in the research. General physical fitness of the surveyed was compared with average results of Lithuanian pupils (Eurofitas, 2002). The analysis of general physical fitness shows that a sports branch affects physical fitness results of young sportsmen. It has been found that 12–13 year old pupils attending track-and-field athletics were superior in their average physical fitness results to those in other groups of the surveyed. Their average indicators of speed, abdominal strength, dexterity, flexibility were higher than those of some groups involved in the research; the superiority was statistically reliable: larger differences in results were observed between speed (30m run) and cycling: p<0.05; speed force indicators (long jump from a standing position, cm) statistically significantly exceeded those of all other surveyed groups; shuttle run 10x5 m performance statistically reliably exceeded that of wrestlers and cyclists; [...]. |
