Abstract [eng] The aim of the research is to find out the relationship between female students’ attitudes towards physical activity and their experience of physical education (PE) lessons at school. Most of the girls who were encouraged by PE lessons to be physically active after school graduation, noticed they had good subject learning conditions and tools, also the teachers were able to make them interested in it. Most of the young women whom PE lessons helped shape negative attitudes towards physical activity, used to feel bad because of inability to perform certain tasks and felt exhausted after the classes. Statistically significant correlation between girls’ positive attitude towards physical activity after school graduation and theoretical knowledge about health and healthy lifestyle received during PE lessons was recorded. Teacher’s ability to take into account a pupil’s individuality was also important in this regard. Appearance of girls’ negative attitudes towards physical activity is mostly related to stress, feeling unsafe and too difficult tasks during the lessons.
