Abstract [eng] The word groups with adjectives and adverbials representing the concepts HEAVY and LIGHT in Lithuanian and German languages are analyzed in the article: SCHWER, SCHWERE, SCHWERES, SUNKÙS, SUNKÌ, SUNKÙ ir LEICHT, LEICHTE, LEICHTER, LEICHTES, LEÑGVAS, LENGVÀ, LEÑGVA, LENGVAĨ. These word groups were taken from publicistic parts of electronic corpora of Lithuanian and German languages. In the article one did not study the cases when the mentioned word groups are used for naming the objects of big and small weight, but the metaphorical ones (WITH LIGHT HEART ('sensitive, pitiful' - about the traits of character)). The concepts that are considered to be the notion of certain object, situation or event and depending on subjective factors, or reflection of its unity in consciousness, are analyzed basing upon the theory of conceptual metaphor. Conceptual metaphor is understood as interaction of source concepts SUNKU / SCHWER ir LENGVA / LEICHT and objective concepts. Basing upon the analyzed material three groups of conceptual metaphors were described: EFFORTS IS HEAVY, THE ABSENCE OF EFFORTS IS LIGHT; GREAT VIOLATION (OF USUAL STATE OR NORM) IS HEAVY, LITTLE VIOLATION ( (OF USUAL STATE OR NORM) IS LIGHT; A LOT OF FORCE IS HEAVY, A LITTLE OF FORCE IS LIGHT.The sence of these conceptual metaphors is explained basing upon the class of attributive metaphors distinguished by Ch. Baldauf in classification conceptual metaphors. These metaphors give opportunity to reveal the evaluation fixed in linguistic picture of the world. In both pictures of the world the concept SUNKU / SCHWER is expressed more vividly then LENGVA / LEICHT.
