Abstract [eng] This article deals with wage and its determinants in Lithuania. The theoretical part provides a theoretical analysis of wage concept, identifies determinants of wages. Internal ones are: a company’s financial possibilities, working conditions, value of specific work, employee’s personal contribution and professional competence. External ones are: labour market conditions, wage levels in the company, industry, and region, standard of living, government policy, and trade unions. The practical part of the article includes retrospective analysis of wage and its determinants. The data of the Lithuanian wages of the years 2001–2010 is analysed. The data involves the following data: minimum, net, gross, and real wages as well as wage distribution by counties, sex, and types of economic activity. Moreover, there is an assessment of dynamics of the determinants of the wage size: gross domestic product, foreign direct investment, government spending, running economic operators, unemployment, and company profit. The interdependence of the wage and its determinants has been assessed. Labour productivity, GDP and government spending are strongly related to wages, as these explain the changes in wages as well rate of their variation.
