Abstract [eng] The author of the review argues that dissertation is very actual and necessary in Lithuanian context, having theoretical and practical signi+cance. Studies on emigration phenomenon in Lithuania become speci+cally relevant because of its wide extensions. There is no precise data about new emigration wave of Lithuanians (which began after 1990). Di-erent sources indicate di-erent numbers and this is a challenge. During the last 20 years from 300 000 to 500 000 Lithuanians emigrated to foreign countries and this makes approximately 13 percent of all population in Lithuania. The novelty of this work is that a wide range of personal psychological characteristics including stable personality characteristics and changeable indicators of psychological well-being are analyzed. Also the objective to estimate the relative importance of these psychological factors in predicting emigrational intentions and emigration of Lithuanians is set. Some limitations and questions for discussion related to the historical perspective of emigration and cross-cultural context are mentioned as well as practical recommendations of dissertation.
