Abstract [eng] According to modern descriptions of human health, the following four key determinants are distinguished: inheritance (20 percent), environment (physical and social) (20 percent), human way of life (50 percent), the level of medical aid and its availability (10 percent) (Poškuvienė, 2004). On the grounds of this, human way of life is one of the main factors determining kuman health. In recent years the researches on the lifestyle and life quality of different groups are relevant: Zaborskis (2006) has presented the health behaviour of Lithuanian adults in the European context; the quality of life of various professionals is assessed (Bubnys, Petrošiūtė, 2008); the quality of life of the people with health problems or disabilities is assessed (Vaitkevičius, 2003, Ivanauskas et al., 2010), etc. In this diversity of researches on the lifestyle of children and youth are interesting because there is a lack of them focusing on solving health problems and disease prevention issues of the people of this age group. This paper aims to explore the opinion of the academic youth on health problems and issues related to their lifestyle, their university, school communities and the people of the whole country and to assess students' suggestions for resolution of these problems. The assessments of the health problems by the respondents themselves are significant. They indicate that their problems are related with academic activity and there is a lack of attention paid to their prevention on both personal and institutional levels.
