Abstract [eng] Based on world and Lithuania’s statistics, tendencies of violence and bullying manifestation against and among children acquire an increasingly wider scale: violence and bullying turn into an integral part of our life, spread of these phenomena among young age children and in new social environments is expanding. Therefore, the problem of violence and bullying today is named as one of the most threatening social phenomena in our society. Bullying at school is a burning problem of European states, but in Lithuania bullying is experienced by around 70 per cent of students (“National Program for Prevention of Violence against Children and Support for Children 2008-2010”). Most often psychological violence that is difficult to recognise is the reason of suicides of several tens of school age children in Lithuania a year. Main reasons of bullying, intimidation, harassment, violet behaviour are most often linked with the peculiarities of the child’s age (particularly in early adolescence), children’s communication peculiarities, seeking to find oneself and consolidate one’s status in social environment (Povilaitis K., Jasiulionienė J. S., 2008 et al.). Researches demonstrate the reduction of numbers of children who experience bullying and bully themselves in Lithuanian schools; starting with 1994, till 2006 the numbers significantly decreased but the frequency of bullying so far remains one of the highest among 35 countries according to HBSC (PSO survey, 2002).
