| Abstract [eng] |
The article analyses NGO activities related to meeting the psychosocial needs of persons with disabilities, evaluating the level of cooperation of those participating in the NGO work (leaders and members) as well as those responsible for the formation and organisation of the social policy. Using methods of qualitative research (interview and content analysis), the content of NGOs related to activities of persons with disabilities has been revealed, as well as the cooperation opportunities and purposefulness of meeting the psychosocial needs in the aspects of social participation manifestation, cooperation aims and application of educational principles have been disclosed. It has been ascertained that NGO activities have some innovative peculiarities of the application of educational principles. NGOs do not limit themselves by teaching and occupational activities; they also contribute to the de-stigmatisation processes of persons with disabilities and other socially segregated people in the society. NGOs’ leaders and persons responsible for formation and organisation of the social policy in the country emphasised the urgency of project activities, seeking to look for financial resources and to cooperate with other NGOs. NGOs’ leaders and people who form policies under-emphasise the importance of lifelong learning, insufficiently use other people’s experience. |
