Abstract [eng] The article analyzes the peculiarities of solution of composite word problems by the schoolchildren with slight special educational needs. 54 third-fourth form schoolchildren having slight special educational needs learning at Radviliškis secondary schools have participated in the research by modifying the curriculum of mathematics. The research has been conducted by applying the method of questionnaire survey. The results of the research have shown that the level of solution of composite word problems by schoolchildren having slight special educational needs is low. The following mistakes dominate the works of the schoolchildren: incorrect choice of operations, counting mistakes, not naming the amount of sum calculated, not writing down the answer. The schoolchildren easily solved the composite problem of the sum of equal summands and finding the sum and the problem was solved indirectly on the whole. For the solution of the latter the schemes were presented which may have influenced the solution of the problems. The greatest number of mistakes was made when solving the composite problems of multiplication of number several times and finding the sum and solving the problem directly on the whole.
