Abstract [eng] |
The analysis shows that the start phase is provided to Baranauskas’ self-understanding by the world, which he understands as an infinity, of which he is only a minute part. Such self-understanding is associated with Christian mentality. The term “autoidentification” can be used to describe this phenomenon. The end phase is completed by the fulfilment: the writer has a goal to get free and enter the Seminary; however, he must come to terms with the world, and with conscience first. Baranauskas himself cannot achieve this goal; that is why community members who will help to overcome the existing obstacles appear. Thus the way to self-understanding of the writing person in the nineteenth century was provided by the assessment of one’s own subjective self (for example, the problem of self-debasement). |
