Abstract [eng] |
The aim of the research is to explore the opinion of class mentors about the quality of communication and collaboration with students from problematic families. To achieve the aim, the following objectives were set: to analyze pedagogical, psychological, sociological, management literature on topic explored; to explore the opinion of class mentors about the quality of communication and collaboration with students from problematic families. Fifty class mentors from five Šiauliai town comprehensive schools participated in the research. The article suggests that today a school does not ensure social rehabilitation of children who grow up in the problematic families. Often there is wrong behaviour with poor, talentless, not pretty, “different” children as well as with children whose parents are addicted to alcohol, careless, poor, disabled, separated and so on. The mentor is a person who has to be the closest to the child, independently of the family the child is from. However, relatively scant attention was paid to the quality of communication and collaboration between students from problematic families and a class mentor until these days, it remained almost unexplored. There is a lack of information and means that could help to analyze the current situation in detail, to clear up whether communication and collaboration between these representatives of the class community is sufficient, what the importance of it for these children is, how the life of these children could change if the mentor of the class paid more attention to communication and collaboration. |
