Abstract [eng] Disabled people perceive dignity as multiple construct that consists of psychological, ethical and law categories. The participants of the focus group singled out the following structural components of dignity: self-strength of a person, positive self-evaluation, self-esteem, free choice of a person and independence from others, high moral values, moral behavior, preservation of personal “I” and disregard of negative attitudes. Self-strength of a person as well as disregard of negative attitudes are treated as specific, characteristic to the disabled elements of conception of dignity. Attitudes that are related to preservation of the disabled people’s dignity are multiple. The participants of focus group tend to single out factors that are related to improvement of the value of a disabled person. Key factors that support dignity of a disabled person can be named as optimistic future vision and (in)accessible infrastructure. It is challenging to treat (in)accessibility of infrastructure: it is treated as an alternative form of making social contacts that makes a problematic situation useful and improving a disabled person’s dignity as well as having negative impact on the disabled person’s dignity and quality of life. Formation of ability to oppose controversial opinion is treated as specific factor that develops the disabled people’s dignity and reveals their discontent with prevalent attitudes, but it lacks dialogue competences.
