Abstract [eng] Lithuanian future (studying) and working professionals in sports management approach to professional competence of university education in mind is analyzed in the article. The study, included the sample of 237 Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education, Bachelor and Master students of The tourism and sports management study program and sports management professionals from a variety of Lithuanian national sport organizations. Sport management professional competence assessment questionnaire based on Aligning European Higher Education Structure in Europe (AEHESIS, 2003–2007) and Tuning Educational Structures in Europe (Tuning, 2002) projects. The study participants’ views to interpret the use of factor analysis and nonparametric statistics allowed to identity significant professional sports management professional competency groups: instrumental skills (organizational skills, accounting and law governing the selected business area knowledge and skills to be used), basic subject knowledge (state business, finance and accounting, personnel management, marketing and advertising, business planning and organization theoretical knowledge), management skills (ability to manage, negotiate, ensure the quality of the organization’s activities, analyze, organize and evaluate, skills of analytical information), reached basic knowledge skills and practices of education.
