Abstract [eng] Principle of fair renumeration for work is set in the Constitution of Lithuania. In order to implement this principle, it is important to take into account other acts and case law. Fair remuneration of work has to ensure basic employer needs and decent standard of living. According to the European Committee of Social Rights, to ensure decent standard of living minimum wage has to be more than 60% of the net average wage. Statistic shows that minimum wage is between 40 – 50% of the net average wage in the Republic of Lithuania. It is important to take into account principle of equality of workers and principle of nondiscrimination when talking about fair remuneration of work. If there is no objective circumstances between two employers, who perform the same work function, it is set they has the ringht to be paid equally. In order to reveal and evaluate the meaning of principle of fair remuneration for work and problematic aspects related to implementing this principle, in this arcle it is analyzing laws of international, Europen Union and national law sources, regulating renumeration for work. In this article it is discussed about decent standard of living, minimal needs of workers, discrimination, these topics are analysed in detail presenting possible ways of resolving existing issues.
