The concept of DevOps was first mentioned in 2009 and although DevOps has received a lot of attention since then, there is still no DevOps maturity model, which could be applied in practice. It makes difficult for organizations to adopt DevOps and for organizations which have already adopted DevOps culture – to self-assess and effectively raise their DevOps maturity. To address this issue, the main goal of this paper is to propose a new DevOps maturity model, which could be applied in practice. Decisions related to the architecture, maturity levels, process areas, practices and evaluation procedure of the new DevOps maturity model were made in this paper. Based on the analysis performed and the decisions made, a new DevOps maturity model was developed. Furthermore, in this paper, the evaluation of the newly proposed DevOps maturity model was performed and capability profile provided by the CMMI-DEV (development) and CMMI-SVC (operations) maturity models was determined. |
