Abstract [eng] |
The master's final thesis analyses the impact of technological progress on income inequality. The aim of this work is to assess the impact of technological progress in the countries of the European Union by analyticly assessing the impact of technological progress in the countries of the European Union by analyticly analytic the impact of technological progress on income inequalities. The first part of the work provides a description of income inequality and technological progress, and provides the determinants of income inequalities. Indicators for measuring technological progress and income inequalities are also revealed. An overview of empirical studies on the impact of factors on income inequalities and the impact of technological progress on income inequalities are carried out after discussion of factors and indicators. The second part of the work provides a methodology for assessing the impact of technological progress on income inequalities. The study was chosen by the European Union and the investigation period 1995-2019. The indicators for assessing income inequality use the GINI coefficient and the GINI ratio after transfers and redistribution. Indicators for measuring technological progress are selected for authors used in scientific sources- number of patents submitted, total factor productivity (TFAs), R&D intensity ratio and share of information technology and communications (ICT) capital in total capital. Four study models are available to assess the impact of each indicator. A regressive analysis is carried out to assess the impact of technological progress on income inequalities on the basis of the models drawn up. The results of the study showed that technological progress reduces income inequalities. The total factor productivity (TFP), the R&D intensity ratio and the share of information technology and communications (ICT) capital in total capital have been found to reduce income inequalities and the number of patents submitted is statistically negligible. |
