This work forms part Masters degree and is composed of a theoretical description, visual project and creative element of functional interior object – BOX - OFFICE. Most people’s lives are now hard to imagine without some form of storage containers. Although these are mostly viewed simply as utility for physical storage of items there exists a deeper, metaphorical association with hidden mysteries and the unknown. Therefore, despite being somewhat mundane, practical and necessary containers generate a level of emotional associations. Theoretical part provides summary about the box as box to keep stuff, mobile office, box-luggage transformation and being universal in the interior and while travelling. Dissertation is looking at philosophical and artistic side of the box, like human being's home thing, stereotype, symbolic image. Functional interior object-transformable box, BOX - OFFICE, designed for young and active people. Its multifunctionality is what makes it outstanding. It can be used as decor element or functional thing. Easy to transport, can be used as luggage, a box to keep things safe, or as young person's working station. |
